I went to Shimabara Castle, a landmark tower in Shimabara City in Nagasaki Prefecture. I traveled the Shimabara Peninsula along the Ariake Sea and arrived with Fugen-dake of Mt. Unzen in view. Shimabara Castle is a reconstructed castle tower made in the 39th year of the Showa era (1964). Of course the keep is a reproduction; however, it is already now a building with an antique atmosphere.

長崎県島原市にありますランドマークタワー「島原城」に行ってきました。島原半島を有明海沿いに走り、雲仙普賢岳を望みながら到着。島原城は昭和39年（1964年）に作られた復元天守。復元された天守ですが、今はもはやアンティークな雰囲気の建物となっております。
