台北からＭＲＴで４０分。淡水河の河口近くにある淡水の街には、歴史的な建造物が今も残っています。オランダ人によって建てられた紅毛城と英国が建てた英国領事官邸。台湾の国家一級古跡に指定されている、丘の上に建つ紅毛城を訪ねます。

On a hill overlooking the Tamsui River stands Fort Santo Domingo, a fort built by the Spanish and later rebuilt and renamed Fort Antonio by the Dutch. Adjacent to the fort stands the Former British Counsel Residence. Both buildings are open to the public and exhibit the historical items, some of which may go back to the 17th century.
